New Review for “What Waits in the Shadows”

, ,

Here’s a fairly positive review of “What Waits in the Shadows” from the Monster Librarian blog, though they ding me for a 100% legitimate complaint about a formatting issue I should have caught. That said, the reviewer was largely positive and a fan of the character of Jeremiah O’Brien in particular.

The secondary character of Jeremiah O’Brien adds a nice flavor to the book: he’s the guy wrongfully imprisoned for killing Lisa’s dad. Would you really expect the authorities to believe a story about a closet monster ripping off heads? Of course not! Jeremiah’s story thread, as he is hell-bent on revenge for a stolen life, adds a good perspective to the book and helps keep it from becoming too predictable.
